ADVANCED WRISTBAND SALES - FAQS Why should I purchase my wristbands online in advance of the Championships? Why can't we receive the wristbands in the post? But wont there be a queue to collect the packs? When will the collections booths be open? Why are you charging a processing fee? But what if I don't have a PayPal account? What about internet card security and data privacy?
Why should I purchase my tickets online in advance of the Championships? Primarily to make sure your entry to the Stadium can be made as smooth as possible. Secondly you have the choice of using your card to make the payments. Tickets may be purchased on the day but you will need to bring CASH. There will be no credit card payment facilities available at the Stadium on the day. CASH ONLY SALES. Advanced orders allows us to know what types of tickets you need, the numbers and for what days. We can have them already just to hand over to you when you arrive. If you have attended the theatre or a concert and pre-booked interval refreshments you will know it is better than queuing, ordering and paying for them in the short time you have available during the interval. We will email all those who have purchased tickets in advance with the details of when and where they can collect their tickets. Why can't we receive the tickets in the post? There have been problems in the past with regards tickets lost in the post, mislaid, left at home, damaged and or simply being transferred on once people arrived at the Stadium. So this year ESAA will use wristbands and for security reasons these can only be issued closer to the Championships. But wont there be a queue to collect the packs? If 1,000 people arrive to collect their packs all at the same time we estimate the wait will be about 8-10 minutes. We believe it will take us no more than 20-30 seconds to identify you and hand over your pack. We hope to monitor your arrival in the car park so that by the time you get to the distribution booths your packs will already be waiting for you. Further details about this will be contained in the email to be sent next week. Contrast that short wait with the queue for people buying wristbands on the day. Cash will need to be counted in, change counted out and wristbands counted out. When will the collections booths be open? We see customers falling into 3 categories - "Friday only"; "Friday & Saturday" and "Saturday only" The distribution booths will be open at the Stadium as follows: Thursday 8th July 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm for "Friday only" and "Friday & Saturday"; Friday 9th July from 8.00 a.m. again for "Friday only" and "Friday & Saturday"; Friday 9th July from 12.00 noon for "Saturday only" Saturday 10th July from 8.00 a.m. again for "Saturday only" We will be emailing ALL pre-booked wristband holders next week to explain more fully how the collection system will work. Why are you charging a processing fee? The fee ensures that 100% of the face value of the sale actually reaches ESAA to fund all the good works they do throughout the year. There are credit/debit card and other costs which we need to cover. Excluding the VAT, the service fee is about 85p per £10.00 spent. About 54p goes to the credit card company. All the costs are clearly shown up front on the order form and what you sign up for is what you pay for. But what if I don't have a PayPal account? You don't need to sign up to have a PayPal account as such to order your wristbands. Simply click the hyperlink contained in the emailed invoice and you have a choice. Use a debit/credit card if you prefer or sign in and use your Paypal account if you already have one and want to use that. Whether the money you use to pay the invoice comes from a card or your PayPal account is immaterial to us, and we don't get to know anyway. What about internet card security and data privacy? PayPal is now the largest online payments system in the world and if it wishes to retain that top spot it has to work hard to protect its users and their customers, i.e. you, from internet fraud. Firstly, neither you nor PayPal provide us, ontrack, sprints software, ESAA, with any of your card details. Your secure payment arrangements are direct with PayPal. Unlike many other merchants and traders we don't collect or hold your card details on our websites or request them over the phone. PayPal issue you with an invoice on our behalf and when you pay you pay them and they in turn remit the funds to us less their normal processing fee. PayPal in response issues you with a receipt and a transaction ID/reference. PayPal offers full guarantees in addition to any of the protections offered by your own card provider and the law. There is a disputes procedure your can invoke if you feel we have over charged you or not delivered our services to you in the expected way or in a timely fashion. PayPal is governed by current EU Directives and UK laws on Data Protection. They like all financial institutions do make some of your details known to the regulatory and other organisations. A full list of these bodies, the extent of the data they pass and the purpose of the disclosures are available for scrutiny at https://cms.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/Privacy_full&locale.x=en_GB First of all don't panic. If you have your confirmations of the booking - order number and date then we will have your order and your wristbands will be reserved for you. Secondly you don't need to re-order again. All this will do is create a second invoice which presumably will go the same way as the first somewhere into cyberspace. The likelihood is that your email provider has intercepted the email and treated it as junk. The very few cases we have had reported back to us as problems were sent to btinternet.com email addresses. If you feel this might be the case with you the invoice may well be sitting in the online junk folder. It doesn't even get to be downloaded to the junk folder in outlook or outlook express if you use those sorts of programs to collect your emails to your computer. We are currently issuing invoices at more than 80 a day and 99% are reaching the recipients. How do we know this? well the payments we receive via PayPal are linked to those invoices and the vast majority are paid in full within 1 hour of receipt. If you still can't find your invoice please call us on 0151 448 0151. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us on 07507 853112 or email us at sales@athletics-uk.net We will add your queries to the FAQs so as to help others who may be wanting the same sort of information as you. |
